Peterson’s all-new 3310 drum chipper is a radical departure from traditional drum chippers. With a 540 hp (402 kW) Caterpillar engine, the 3310 has the power to handle up to 24-inch (61 cm) diameter logs. The fully enclosed engine compartment keeps things clean, but easily serviced by large access doors on both sides of the machine. The 3310’s transverse design allows for a much smaller operations deck, and the rotatable end load or optional top load spout design allows for trailers to be loaded in a variety of positions, depending on the demands of the job site.
 
The 4300B drum chipper is the latest in a long line of high quality chipping and grinding machines produced by Peterson. The 4300B drum chipper is suited for high volume biomass producers who have a wide variety of feed material, from logs up to 26 inches (61 cm) in diameter, to brush and small feed stock. Powered by a C18 Caterpillar engine, the 4300B is powered by 765 horsepower (570 kW). At 52,000 pounds (23,586 kg) and 8 feet 4-3/4 inches (255 cm) in width, the 4300B is a high production chipper whose dimensions do not require any oversize permits for road transportation.
 
The track mounted 4310B Drum Chipper is suited for high volume biomass producers who have a wide variety of feed material from brush and small feed stock to logs up to 24 inches (61 cm) in diameter. The 4310B is powered by a 765 horsepower (570 kW) C18 Caterpillar engine. At 58,500 pounds (26 535 kg), the track mounted 4310B is designed for operations requiring high production and frequent moves between jobs. The chipper utilizes a 36 inch diameter by 44¾ inch (91 by 114 cm) wide drum with either 6 or 12 knife pockets. Traditional babbitt type knife systems are standard equipment. Chip length can be set from 1⁄8 to 1¼ inch (3 to 32 mm) depending on rotor and knife configuration.Other key features include a hydraulic clutch, sloped feed deck for ease of feeding the chipper, and wear resistant AR 450 wear surfaces on the drum pockets and shell. Optional material sizing grates further reduce oversize twigs and branches in the chips, and an optional chip accelerator helps with loading.

At 58,500 pounds (26 535 kg), the track mounted 4310B is designed for operations requiring high production and frequent moves between jobs.The chipper utilizes a 36 inch diameter by 44¾ inch (91 by 114 cm) wide drum with either 6 or 12 knife pockets. Traditional babbitt type knife systems are standard equipment. Chip length can be set from 1⁄8 to 1¼ inch (3 to 32 mm) depending on rotor and knife configuration. Peterson’s chip accelerator system, adds load density, or throws chips well away from the machine for land clearing operations.With a ground clearance of 2’-10 1/8” (86 cm), the Highwalker makes it easy to traverse even the most rugged terrain.Other key features include a hydraulic clutch, sloped feed deck for ease of feeding the chipper, and wear resistant AR 400 wear surfaces on the drum pockets and shell. Optional material sizing grates further reduce oversize twigs and branches in the chips, and an optional chip accelerator helps with loading. The 4310B comes equipped with a wireless remote transmitter, putting control in the palm of your hand.
 
The 6300B drum chipper is suited for high volume biomass producers who have a wide variety of feed material, from logs up to 36″ (91 cm) in diameter, to brush and small feed stock. The 6300B is powered by a 1050 HP (772 kW) C27 Caterpillar engine, and has an optional Tier IVi engine available. A PT Tech wet clutch has also been added to the machine. At 85,000 pounds (38,555  kg), the 6300B was designed for operations requiring high production and frequent moves between jobs.The 6300B has two drum configurations, a 8-pocket drum to make standard biomass chips, or a 16-pocket drum to make a microchips.  An optional grate system has been redesigned to allow for adjustment from a microchip to a 1¼” chip with the same grates. Traditional babbit type knife systems are standard equipment, or an optional key knife system is available. Peterson’s chip accelerator system, adds load density, or throws chips well away from the machine for land clearing operations.The chipper utilizes a 50″ (127 cm) diameter by 60″ (152 cm) wide drum. Other key features include a sloped feed deck for the ease of feeding and wear resistant AR450 wear surfaces on the drum pockets and shell. The feed chain has been upgraded to WDH120 for improved strength and long life.
 
This compact and flexible precision chipper is for processing log diameters up to 2 feet. The superstructure revolving by 300° allowing for feeding and discharge along with easy transport due to the versatile double-axle trailer chassis.
 
The DH 812Q chipper efficiently and economically shreds all types of wood from logs or roots, crowns of trees, shrubbery and waste wood into wood chips. For mobile use, the machine can be hooked up to a tractor in any location and can start almost immediately with the shredding of material.

Disc Chippers

The Peterson 5000H Delimber Debarker Disc Chipper produces high quality low bark content chips for wood pulp and pellets, processing whole trees in one continuous operation. Equipped with a large feed throat, this whole tree chipper can accept up to a 23 inch (56 cm) diameter single tree or multiple smaller stems.The 5000H can be configured with a three or four pocket disc, with several optional sheave sizes to make precisely the chip you need. The standard three-pocket disc produces chips from 5⁄8 to 1 1/4 inches (16–32 mm) long, while the optional four-pocket disc produces chips from ½ to 1 inches (13–25 mm) long. Chipping production rates up to 100 tons (90 tonnes) per hour can be achieved depending on chip size and wood characteristics.
 
The Peterson 5900E disc chipper produces high quality paper chips when used with a Peterson 4800F debarker, or fuel chips as a stand alone fuel wood chipper. The 5900E is powered by a Caterpillar C18, Tier III, 765hp (570kW) engine, which is both fuel efficient and maintenance friendly. The 5900E can be configured with a three or four pocket disc, with several optional sheave sizes to make precisely the chip you need. Chipping production rates from 60 to 100 US tons (54 431to 90 718 kg) can be achieved depending on chip size. The productive 5900E’s large feed throat can accept up to 23 inch (58 cm) diameter trees or multiple smaller stems.
 
The Peterson 6910 Disc Chipper produces high quality paper chips when used with a Peterson 6800 Debarker, or fuel chips as a stand alone fuel wood chipper. The 6910 is powered by a Caterpillar C27, Tier III, 1050hp (772 kW), or an optional C32, 1125hp (839 kW) engine. The 6910 has a five pocket disc, with several optional sheave sizes to make precisely the chip you need. The chipper disc is directly driven from a high-capacity PT-Tech hydraulic clutch and belts. Chipping production rates up to 200 US tons (181437 kg) per hour can be achieved depending on chip size. The 6910’s large feed throat can accept up to 27 inch (69 cm) diameter trees or multiple smaller stems.
 
The Peterson 7900EL Disc Chipper is designed for high volume operations that require the ability to chip large diameter feedstock or multiple stems. The largest disc chipper that Peterson has built to date, the 7900EL has the ability the produce chips from ¼ to 1¼ inches (6 to 32 mm). When low bark or ash content is a requirement, the 7900EL can be paired with the Peterson 6830 Debarker. The extended deck of the 7900EL feeds the large feed throat capable of accepting up to a 30 inch (76 cm) diameter tree, or multiple smaller stems. Powered by a fully enclosed Caterpillar C32 engine rated at 1125 HP (839 kW), the 7900EL easily has the power to chip the largest diameter feedstock. A hydraulic clutch transfers the power to the massive 86 inch (218 cm) diameter, 4¾ inch thick, 5-knife chipper disc equipped with replaceable wear liners. The 7900EL is available with either Babbitted or Key Knife systems.The 7900EL is controlled by an IQAN operating system, which provides the operator with all critical engine and performance parameters, as well as setup information for when chip size changes are made. Other key features are the four landing gear legs to stabilize the machine while operating, removable sidewalls to guide feedstock into the chipper disc, and a remote controlled rotating spout to top-load chip vans. When paired with a Peterson 6830 Debarker, the 7900EL is the ultimate in-field clean chipping plant.
