Cat® heavy equipment delivers performance and efficiency year after year. A Thompson Tractor Cat Customer Value Agreement (CVA) protects your investment throughout its working life. Learn how this agreement boosts performance, cuts maintenance costs, and extends equipment life.
What Is a Customer Value Agreement?
A Cat CVA is an ownership plan tailored to your business needs. CVAs offer customizable solutions that lower operational costs through proactive maintenance.
You decide on the level of service that suits you. Choose self-installation convenience, dealer service reliability, or comprehensive cover for new machines. Thompson Tractor offers flexible coverage options on your terms, so you can get more of what you need and less of what you don’t.
CVAs make owning and maintaining Cat equipment hassle-free. Expect genuine Cat parts, expert dealer support, and technician assistance when needed.
What Are the Benefits of a Cat CVA?

- Tailored agreements: Plans are flexible and scalable to suit your specific requirements. As a result, you can adjust your CVA as your business or fleet grows.

How Does a Cat® CVA Work?
A Cat CVA offers ownership value on new or used equipment covering one machine or many. Whether you own a Cat machine or want to purchase one, there’s a CVA option for you. You can choose coverage for a single piece of equipment or a whole fleet.
You pay a single monthly fee that includes:
- Hassle-free ownership: You get genuine Cat parts delivered on time to your location. If you choose self-maintenance, you receive step-by-step instructions.
- Expert dealer support: Trust Thomson Tractor for advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs. Certain plans include rapid technician response or priority maintenance scheduling.
- Equipment Protection Plan (EPP): An EPP extends protection on new, used, or rebuilt machines. It provides cover for labor and parts outside of the machine warranty. The EPP transfers with the machine when sold in the purchase region.
- Equipment health management: Use valuable data to monitor your equipment’s health. Check operating hours, fuel consumption, and location. With the fluid health check, evaluate the condition of your machine’s oil, coolant, and fuel. The Cat Inspect app offers you easy access to valuable machine insights.
A Thompson Tractor service expert will take you through the various CVA options. You decide on the coverage that best fits your work and business requirements.
Which Cat CVA Is Right for You?
The ideal CVA for your team depends on your unique operational needs. Thompson Tractor offers three CVA options:
Convenience CVA
A Convenience CVA offers peace of mind and self-service for in-house maintenance operations. Expect genuine Cat parts delivered to your business’s door when needed with detailed instructions.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s included in a Convenience CVA:
- Self-installation: You receive genuine Cat parts with printed or emailed installation instructions. The recommended fluid and parts vary according to the operation and maintenance manual.
- EPP: The EPP provides dealer repair of hydraulics, power trains, and technology. Coverage extends beyond the standard warranty for new, used, or rebuilt machines.
- VisionLink® integration: This technology provides real-time machine data to increase operational efficiency. Using the Cat Inspect app, you can view insights, perform inspections, and order new or used parts.
- Single payment: The CVA can roll into your existing monthly machine payment.
The quantity of planned maintenance (PM) kits depends on expected machine hours. Your Thompson Tractor expert ensures you receive the right number of PM kits for your operations.
Performance CVA
The Performance CVA includes some elements of Convenience with added dealer service benefits. Thompson Tractor technicians perform maintenance using genuine Cat parts and tools. This CVA includes an EPP for new machines or component protection for owned machines.
Performance CVAs include the following features:
- Expert dealer service: Thompson Tractor arrives on cue to service your Cat equipment. We cover routine maintenance, fluid analysis, and annual inspections. You save on the cost of on-site technicians or mechanics.
- Machine data: All CVAs come with VisionLink integration.
- Versatile protection: An EPP covers new machines for hydraulic, powertrain, and technology defects. Component protection provides coverage for elements like turbochargers and injectors.
- Fluid health: An SOS fluid analysis offers effective preventive maintenance. We assess oil and coolant to identify any potential issues.
- Services commitment: You receive parts or get a Cat Credit up to $1,000. Plus, you enjoy priority scheduling, updates, and technician response.
- Cat Certified Maintained: Your machine is eligible for a Cat Certified Maintained badge. This badge indicates timely maintenance by a dealer technician using genuine Cat parts, so potential buyers know the machine has undergone the highest standard of maintenance.
This option suits operations that want more dealer involvement with prioritization privileges.
Confidence CVA
The Confidence CVA is available only on new Cat machines. This option comes with Performance CVA perks on top of an extra layer of security:
- Professional dealer service: The Confidence CVA includes added service milestone maintenance events, such as a 3,000- or 5,000-hour service. Thompson Tractor oversees fluid health with SOS analysis and genuine Cat fluids.
- Condition management: We analyze inspection, fluid analysis, and other data. These insights allow for accurate maintenance and repair planning.
- Premier EPP: This EPP upgrades the cover on material and Cat workmanship defects. Components include hydraulics, powertrain, technology, cab, brakes, steering, and suspension.
- All Performance features: You enjoy the same Performance CVA benefits. These include service commitment, VisionLink integration, and Cat Certified Maintained eligibility.
This CVA offers extended protection for up to five years, depending on expected working hours.
