Medical

Your medical benefits are provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and provide coverage for both in-network and out-of-network providers. If you choose to utilize an out-of-network provider, you may be balance billed. This is a summary of coverage; please refer to your summary plan description for the full scope of coverage. In-network services are based on negotiated charges; Out-of-network services are based on a percentage of Medicare charges.

Dental

Although you can choose any dental provider, when you use an in-network dentist, you will generally pay less. If you choose an out-of-network provider, you may be billed the difference between what Delta Dental pays, and what your out-of-network provider charges for the services.

Vision

The vision plan is built around the providers who have higher benefits at a lower cost to you. When you need services, consider using an in-network provider for the most bang for your buck! When you use an out-of-network provider, you may be reimbursed for services.

Short-term disability

Short-Term Disability is provided through Mutual of Omaha. The benefit period is 12 weeks and is payable up to 66.67% of your average weekly earnings and is paid out weekly.

Long-term disability

Long-Term Disability is provided through Mutual of Omaha. The benefits period is upwards of 3.5 years depending on the disability. There are clauses that Mutual of Omaha will provide. The benefit is payable at 60% of your monthly earnings and is paid out monthly.

*Should you choose to enroll in Short-Term and/or Long-Term Disability, Thompson Tractor pays half of the premium for you! If you do not enroll in Disability coverage when it is first available to you, you may be required to complete an Evidence of Insurability (EOI) form.*

Voluntary AD&D

Employees have the opportunity to purchase accidental death and dismemberment coverage (AD&D) to protect themselves and their families worldwide against any covered accident – whether the accident happens on or off the job, or in or away from home. This is provided by Mutual of Omaha.

Voluntary Life

Employees have the opportunity to purchase affordable term life insurance for themselves and their families. You can choose the amount of coverage that is right for you, up to 10 times your salary but not exceeding $250,000. There is no statement of health required. This is provided by Mutual of Omaha.

Basic Life and AD&D

Thompson Tractor provides Basic Life and AD&D insurance at no cost to the employee. This is to help protect your loved ones and assets. The Basic Life insurance is equal to 1.5 times your estimated salary for new hires and exactly 1.5 times for employees who have been employed for more than 12 months. This is provided through Mutual of Omaha.

Flexible Spending Account

A flexible spending account (FSA) is an account that can reimburse you for qualified healthcare or dependent care expenses. You can fund qualified expenses with pre-tax dollars deducted from your paychecks. You can choose to participate in one or both accounts, and it’s not necessary to “sign up” specific family members for these accounts.

Healthcare FSA

A healthcare FSA uses pre-tax dollars to cover employees’ medical expenses, up to the amount contributed for the plan year. Eligible healthcare expenses include many of the out-of-pocket expenses you pay to maintain your health and well-being. Visit irs.gov for a full list of eligible expenses. You may contribute up to $2,750 annually (funds will be available as of the election effective date).

Dependent Care FSA

You may use pre-tax dollars from your Dependent Care FSA to pay expenses for the care of a dependent child, spouse, or elderly parent inside your home (from a qualified provider), and expenses outside your home, such as babysitters, nursery schools, or day care centers. You may contribute up to $5,000 annually (or $2,500 if you are married and file a separate tax return). You can only be reimbursed up to the amount that you have contributed.

Paid Time Off

Paid Time Off is offered to hourly and salary employees for Bereavement, Jury Duty, Voting, and Vacation. Sick Leave is offered to full-time hourly employees, along with accommodations for employees who have tested positive for COVID-19. Ask a Human Resources representative for more information about COVID-19 Paid Time Off.

Teladoc

Teladoc provides access to care through your health benefits from anywhere you are. Talk to a US board-certified doctor and get medical advice by phone, video, web, or app. $10 each visit when enrolled in the health plan.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is provided to all employees and eligible dependents to assist with confidential assessments and short-term, professional counseling services for personal problems in your life. Services include unlimited telephonic coaching, legal counseling, financial counseling, eldercare resources, community support resources, and online services.
