Field Service at Thompson Tractor
At Thompson Tractor, we take pride in our Field Service team. We are constantly adding and training technicians to be able to better serve our customers. Throughout our fleet, techs are assigned staggered start times in order to cover repairs around the clock. Since the clock doesn’t stop, our fleet works 7 days a week. Our technicians are a group of knowledgeable and trained professionals, dedicated solely to interpreting your data and providing you with effective service solutions to increase your productivity and uptime while decreasing your overall costs.
Getting The Job Done
Not only do our guys work around the clock, but we are equipped with the tools to get the job done. Our service trucks are equipped with up to 14,000lb. crane. Our team is able to pull engines and tear down large equipment while in the field. Our fleet also runs a boom truck that allows us to transport large components to and from the field, quickly and efficiently. To minimize downtime we have a tool that allows our techs the ability to replace single damaged box links in the field, rather than bringing the machine to one our shops and disassembling the entire component.
Another tool we use is VisionLink. Whenever our guys are called to a jobsite for a down machine, they can check VisionLink to see what fault codes are present, engine hours and location. This gives our techs an idea of the issue at hand, what tech to send to the job site and what parts may be needed for repair.
Our techs are fully prepared and confident to get the job done on the spot. Throughout their careers, we send them through various trainings. We also provide them with component specialized training, so they are knowledgeable of the machine from top to bottom. We have technicians dedicated to specialized areas such as paving, underground mining, certified welders, Cat certified technicians, Master technicians and PM field technicians.
